Vietnam Jimmy Cliff

Its about the war in Vietnam and who bad it was and the fact people would come home dissfigured or not home at all here are the lyrics

Hey Vietnam, Vietnam, Vietnam, Vietnam
Vietnam, Vietnam, Vietnam
Yesterday I got a letter from my friend fighting in Vietnam
An this is what he had to say:
'Tell all my friends that I'll be coming home soon
My time'll be up some time in June
Don't forget', he said, 'to tell my sweet Mary
Her golden lips are sweet as cherry'
And it came from Vietnam, Vietnam, Vietnam, Vietnam
Vietnam, Vietnam, Vietnam
It was just the next day his mother got a telegram
It was addressed from Vietnam
Now mistress Brown, she lives in the USA
And this is what she rode and said:
'Don't be alarmed', she told me the telegram said
'But mistress Brown your son is dead'
And it came from Vietnam, Vietnam, Vietnam, Vietnam
Vietnam, Vietnam - hey - Vietnam
Somebody please stop that war now!
Vietnam, Vietnam, Vietnam, Vietnam - oh
Vietnam, Vietnam - oh - Vietnam, oh oh oh oh - somebody please stop it
Vietnam, Vietnam - oh - Vietnam, Vietnam, oh oh oh oh
Vietnam - hey - Vietnam - aha - Vietnam - oh oh yeah
I wanna say now somebody stop that war - Vietnam .... - oh yeah, aha

social studies Anzac

When do you hear the Last Post? In New Zealand you would usually hear the Last Post at Anzac services on Anzac Day.

Why is it significant to New Zealand? It is significant to New Zealand because of the people we had go other there and support, such as the allied forces and the many people who died, It is important that we commemorate the people that we lost.

What is the history behind the Last Post? The history behind it is that it was played every day to signal the end of the day to stop fighting for the day.

What does it represent? In military tradition, the Last Post is the bugle call that signifies the end of the day's activities. It is also sounded at military funerals to indicate that the soldier has gone to his final rest and at commemorative services such as Anzac Day and Remembrance Day.

Reflection section

 Text title: Naruto

Text type: Story

Text creator: Masashi Kishimoto

Text purpose: to entertain

Date 12-3-21

I’ve been reading this book series named Naruto. It's pretty good it’s about this kid who has this demon fox inside of him. But his whole village despises him because of the demon inside of him. But Naruto wants to gain the respect of his village and become the hokage which is the leader of his village. He gains more people who believe in him like his teacher and his teammates and people from other villages.

Why has the author constructed the characters this way? Because it shows the story of a character who has nothing but his dreams and friends. To slowly getting everything he wants and it also shows the other characters achieving their dreams as well.

Why am I reading this book? Well I'm reading this because I watched the show that's based of these books and I really liked it. So I decided to read the books but there's 72 books so the series can drag out a bit, but it’s a very entertaining story to read.

narratives

Show don't tell

The buildings were so gigantic I had walk 100 meters back just to see them.

Sarah was so upset that her tears were like a storm.

her face lifted with a smile after she saw him after all those years.

The lake was as pretty as a picture the way the light reflected of the water.

setting it up

As soon as I entered the van I realized there was no free candy

I noticed we were in trouble when the trees started to speak Vietnamese

as the car began to swerve my insides turned the three seconds when the car was flipping felt like a whole eternity

setting it up like a pro

I was walking home but when I turned the corner you wouldn't expect what happened next. I saw my house up in flames the ash and smoke was all I could smell . The white walls I once owned were now grey. The fear was in my legs was spreading throughout my entire body my body began trembling like I saw a ghost the sounds around me sounded like a massive disaster which made sense with all the sirens around me

Social science spirituals

What are spirituals and what did people use them for? Spirituals were used for convening emotions whether it was sorrow joy or inspiration and sometimes they used them to escape from the slave owners. and they would also use them to get through their day on the fields.

who was Harriet Tubman and what was the underground railroad? Harriet Tubman was known as the mosses of her people. Because of her being enslaved then escaping then helping over people escape leading to the underground railroad. So what was the underground railroad. The underground railroad was a network of people black and white who offered shelter and aid to people who escaped from the south. They operated from the late 18th century to the civil war.

This is a spiritual about a way to escape from the slave owners. It says that while your escaping go through the river and make your way down the river. Because if they did that it will make the dogs that will be sent to find them harder because it would make it difficult for dogs to find them.

Wade in the Water, wade in the water children.

Wade in the Water. God’s gonna trouble the water.
Who are those children all dressed in Red?
God’s gonna trouble the water.
Must be the ones that Moses led.
God’s gonna trouble the water.

Chorus

Who are those children all dressed in White?
God’s gonna trouble the water.
Must be the ones of the Israelites.
God’s gonna trouble the water.

Chorus

Who are those children all dressed in Blue?
God’s gonna trouble the water.
Must be the ones that made it through.

God’s gonna trouble the water.

Now how are these events still significant today.

These events are still significant because of the oppression of black people in America in some southern states and some cities like Arkansas which is just super racist
